《陋室铭》选自《全唐文》。作者刘禹锡，唐代中期诗人、哲学家，字梦得。他政治上主张革新，曾热心赞助王叔文的政治革新，反对宦官专政和藩镇割据。王叔“”新失败后，他屡遭放贬。本文就是他被贬为和州刺史的时候写的。后经人推荐，任太子宾客，世称“刘宾客”，著有《刘宾客集》，也称《刘梦得集》。
